ipod
i stopped using my ipod for a while (around a half a year to a year) and just recently started using it again in China. basically, while i do my thang here with my jams bumped up, it just feels like im listening to the soundtrack of my life. its pretty dang awesome. especially when the appropriate song comes on the right time.

when in china (rome),
so i was thinking about it, and since im in china trying to be more like the locals here, ive come up with a bucket list of things i should do to prove that ive become a native. heres the list: 1. spit in a public area where there is at least one woman, one baby, and 5 other locals in the area. (total 7 people) 2. pick my nose in public (there must be more than 10 people in the vicinity.) 3....

The Way You Look When You Cross My Mind
I feel a little crazy when I think about you sometimes, because I know that if anyone were looking at me, it might seem strange to see a man grinning when he isn’t talking to anyone. I can’t help it though–-that perfect little shape the corners of your mouth form when you smile, it just gets me—well, it just gets me. And your eyes! They form these faultless upside-down crescents when you laugh!...

realizations in china
sorry for the lack of updates. the days are pretty much the same but the realizations are not. here are a few:  1. people ALWAYS pop the collar on polo shirts. i wish i could line them all up and ride a motorcycle along the line while holding a giant fly swatter and slapping the side of their faces as i ride by. foolish mortals… 2. theres this stupid thing that ajushis (old men) always do....

adventures overseas pt3.
i think ive finally come to terms with myself that im gonna be one lonely dude for the next 3 months. That is, unless, i manage to find people to kick it with (and especially because a certain sleeping schedule has been fixed). But for now, i dont really see anything happening. But i really think He is tryna teach me something here: more of Him and less of everything else. Back at home, i usually...

adventures overseas pt2.
Its my third day in China. Yesterday, the guy whos helping me out in China (Lets just call him Gabe for now) thought it would be a good idea to let me explore and get to know the city. So he drove me to some random spot in the city, dropped me off, and told me to find my way back home. Luckily, my Eagle Scout skills allowed me to safely navigate back home. I used this opportunity to take a few...

adventures overseas pt1.
so im chillin in incheon right now waiting for my next flight (6hr layover) a couple of weird things happened while i was on my way here: 1. i was looking at the flight schedule along the wall at LAX and as i was walking, my head was completely facing the wall on the right. apparently, some old dude stopped in the middle of the walkway so i completely just ran into him at the brisk pace i...

china
As the time of my departure to China for 3 months approaches (approximately 24 hrs), i cant help but harbor bittersweet feelings.  just a couple thoughts in no particular order of importance (maybe except the first few): 1. approximately 227 days til the fidomyl by the time i get back. 2. distance makes the heart grow fonder.  3. China just got 100x busier. 4. 3 months off will be good for...
